An authorized Dolphin dealer buys directly from Maytronics or its distributors, agrees to Maytronics pricing and support policies, and appears on the official dealer locator. Because Maytronics knows exactly where the robot came from, it will register the warranty in your name and honor it at any service center.
Unauthorized sellers source robots through liquidators, overseas channels or returned inventory. Maytronics cannot trace the serial number to a legitimate sale, so the warranty is void from day one, no matter what the listing promises.

Search the seller name on the official Maytronics dealer locator. Every authorized online and local dealer is listed there. If the name is missing, walk away.
Maytronics sets minimum advertised pricing. A "new" Premier hundreds of dollars below every authorized dealer is a grey-market or used unit.
Ask who registers the warranty and where repairs go. Authorized dealers register with Maytronics and use Maytronics service centers.
Platinum dealers charge $0 restocking and offer a 30-day in-pool trial. A no-returns policy or a 20% fee is a red flag.
Authorized dealers sell NanoFilters, brushes, tracks and power supplies for the models they carry. Grey-market sellers usually cannot.
Authorized robots ship from a U.S. dealer warehouse with a U.S. power supply, sealed box and warranty card in the box.
