Genuine Maytronics parts · 41 brushes

Dolphin pool cleaner brushes.

Every genuine Maytronics brush for a Dolphin robot: the active scrubbing brushes, the front and rear brush assemblies, PVC and combined brush sets and the climbing rings that grip the wall. Worn brushes are the usual reason a Dolphin stops climbing or leaves the waterline dirty.

Match it to your robot

Find the right brush for your Dolphin.

Dolphin brushes differ by platform (S-series, M-line, the ProLine and Max-Series robots, the commercial Wave) and by type: PVC brushes, the standard on the Active, S and T lines; combined brushes with foam climbing rings, the standard on the Nautilus and Premier; and the optional foam brushes for very smooth, slippery surfaces. Pick your model and the list narrows to what Maytronics confirms.

Check the brush type you haveLook at the brush on the robot now. A solid ribbed brush is PVC. A ribbed brush with foam rings on it is a combined brush, and the rings are sold on their own. An all-foam brush is the optional type for slippery surfaces. Replace like for like.
Replace in pairs where sold in pairsFront and rear brushes wear together. Two-packs and four-packs are the normal replacement; a single brush is for a damaged one on an otherwise fresh set.

Before you order

When to replace Dolphin brushes.

The robot slips off the wallBrushes and climbing rings wear smooth long before they fall apart. A Dolphin that used to clean the waterline and now turns back halfway up the wall usually needs new rings or brushes, not a new motor.
The ribs are gone or the brush is crackedLook at the ribs on a PVC brush: when they are worn flat, scrubbing power is gone. Cracked or split brushes and torn sponge inserts should be replaced before the pieces reach the impeller.
The pool surface is very smoothPVC and combined brushes suit every pool finish. Only an extremely smooth, slippery surface, such as steel or very smooth mosaic tile, calls for the optional foam brushes; Maytronics' answer below explains the three types.

How to replace and care for Dolphin brushes

Questions

Dolphin brushes, answered.

How long do Dolphin brushes last?

It depends on the pool finish and how often the robot runs: rough finishes wear brushes faster than smooth ones. Most owners replace brushes or climbing rings every one to three seasons, as soon as the robot stops climbing cleanly.

Which brush is right for my pool surface?

Maytronics makes three types. PVC brushes and combined brushes (PVC with foam climbing rings) are both recommended for every pool finish; which one your robot uses depends on the model. Foam brushes are the optional choice for extremely smooth, slippery surfaces such as steel or very smooth mosaic tile. Replace like for like.

Do I need tools to replace a Dolphin brush?

On most models the brushes snap into place without tools. Some assemblies are held by a screw at each end. The how-to answers above show the steps and the video for each type.
