Dolphin pool cleaner motor units & impellers.

Every genuine Maytronics motor unit and impeller for a Dolphin robot. The motor unit is the sealed block inside the robot that holds the pump motor and the drive motor; the impeller is the fan on top of it that pulls water through the filter. Pick your model to see the units Maytronics confirms for it.

Match it to your robot

Find the right motor unit for your Dolphin.

Motor units are the most model-specific part a Dolphin has: the drive type, the climbing ability, the LED and the filter indicator all live in it. Rule out the cheap causes first, then match the unit to the robot's exact model number.

Check the impeller firstA clogged impeller mimics a dead motor: the robot moves but does not pick up, or hums and stops. Unplug the power supply, open the impeller cover and clear the hair and debris. A broken impeller blade is a five-dollar fix.
Then the cable and power supplyA robot that will not start at all is more often a cable, swivel or power-supply fault than a motor. The troubleshooting guide for your model walks through the checks in order.
Match the exact model numberChoose your robot in the list above. Motor units with the same name (S1, S2, M-line) exist in climbing and floor-only versions, with and without LED; Maytronics' list for your model names the right one.

Motor units (16)

Before you order

When to replace a Dolphin motor unit.

It hums but the pump does not turnWith the impeller clear and the robot on a known-good cable and power supply, a pump that hums without turning, or a drive that no longer moves the tracks, is the motor unit.
Water inside the motor unitA motor unit is sealed. Condensation or water visible inside the housing means the seal has gone and the unit should be replaced before it shorts.
The warranty comes firstMotor units are the most expensive part on this page. If the robot is inside its Maytronics warranty, a motor fault is a warranty claim; our specialists will tell you how to file it before you buy anything.

How to replace and care for Dolphin motor units

Questions

Dolphin motor units, answered.

How do I know if my Dolphin motor unit is bad?

Clear the impeller and test the robot on a known-good power supply and cable first. If the pump hums without turning, the tracks no longer drive or there is water inside the sealed housing, the motor unit has failed. The troubleshooting guide for your model has the checks in order.

Is replacing a Dolphin motor unit worth it?

Often, yes: the motor unit is the heart of the robot and the rest of it (body, filter, tracks) has years left. Compare the unit's price against the robot's age and warranty, and talk to us before you decide; if the robot is under warranty the motor is covered.

What does EX mean on a Dolphin motor unit?

EX marks an exchange part: Maytronics expects the old motor unit back. The part page lists the price and the robots the unit fits; ask us about the exchange before ordering.
