The Dolphin Cayman is part of the Max-Series™ lineup — the best-value Max-Series™ performer with a weekly timer, for in-ground or above-ground pools. It cleans pools up to 33 ft with floor + walls coverage and MaxBin™ filtration, backed by a 2-year warranty.
The Dolphin Premier is part of the ProLine™ lineup — the only Dolphin with swappable MultiMedia™ filtration. It handles pools up to 50 ft with floor + walls + waterline coverage and MultiMedia™ + NanoFilters™ filtration, backed by a 3-year warranty.
Our verdict: the Dolphin Premier gets the edge
Both robots come from Dolphin's two top-recommended lineups — the Max-Series™ and the ProLine™ — so either is an excellent buy. For most pools we give the slight edge to the Dolphin Premier: the only Dolphin with swappable MultiMedia™ filtration. It delivers floor + walls + waterline coverage, MultiMedia™ + NanoFilters™ filtration and a 3-year warranty.
The Dolphin Cayman is a strong alternative and saves you $900 at $1049 — you won't go wrong with either.
