The Best Robotic Pool Cleaners for Fiberglass Pools: Dolphin Picks
Not all robotic pool cleaners are built the same. These are the machines we'd put in a pool for Fiberglass Pools — chosen for filtration, coverage, and reliability, and every one is a genuine Dolphin.
The term "robotic pool cleaner" covers everything from bargain floor-only vacuums to commercial-grade machines. When you're shopping for Fiberglass Pools, the difference between the wrong robot and the right one is filtration, coverage, and build quality — three areas where Dolphin robots by Maytronics consistently lead.
Fiberglass pools have a slick, non-porous gel-coat surface that's easy on debris but hard on traction — a robot that can't grip will slide down the walls instead of climbing them. Wall grip is the make-or-break spec.
What to look for in a robotic pool cleaner for Fiberglass Pools
On fiberglass, the challenge is climbing a smooth wall. Look for robots with strong tracked drive and brushes engineered for grip so they reliably scale slick walls and clean the waterline. Fine filtration keeps the shiny surface looking spotless, and gentle brushes protect the gel coat.
- Strong tracked traction for slick walls

Frequently asked questions
Do robotic pool cleaners climb fiberglass walls?
The good ones do. Fiberglass is slick, so you need a robot with strong tracked traction like the Quantum or Sigma to reliably climb and scrub the walls.
Will a robot scratch my fiberglass gel coat?
No — Dolphin brushes are designed to be surface-safe. They grip and scrub without scratching the gel coat.
Why does my current cleaner keep sliding down the wall?
It lacks the traction for a smooth surface. A robot with a strong tracked drive grips fiberglass far better than wheeled or weak-suction cleaners.
