The Best Robotic Pool Cleaners for Above Ground Pools: Dolphin Picks
Not all robotic pool cleaners are built the same. These are the machines we'd put in a pool for Above Ground Pools — chosen for filtration, coverage, and reliability, and every one is a genuine Dolphin.
The term "robotic pool cleaner" covers everything from bargain floor-only vacuums to commercial-grade machines. When you're shopping for Above Ground Pools, the difference between the wrong robot and the right one is filtration, coverage, and build quality — three areas where Dolphin robots by Maytronics consistently lead.
Above-ground pools have shallow, sloped floors and soft liner walls, so they need a lightweight robot that's gentle on the liner and easy to lift in and out. Big, heavy inground robots are overkill here.
What to look for in a robotic pool cleaner for Above Ground Pools
For above-ground pools, look for a lightweight, liner-safe robot sized for shallower depths. You don't need aggressive plaster brushes or deep-end wall climbing — you need gentle cleaning, easy handling, and a price that matches a smaller pool. Simple filter baskets are fine for most above-ground water.
- Lightweight, easy to lift out
- Liner-safe brushes & treads
- Sized for shallow, sloped floors
- Great value for a smaller pool
