The Best Robotic Pool Cleaners for Twigs: Dolphin Picks
Not all robotic pool cleaners are built the same. These are the machines we'd put in a pool for Twigs — chosen for filtration, coverage, and reliability, and every one is a genuine Dolphin.
The term "robotic pool cleaner" covers everything from bargain floor-only vacuums to commercial-grade machines. When you're shopping for Twigs, the difference between the wrong robot and the right one is filtration, coverage, and build quality — three areas where Dolphin robots by Maytronics consistently lead.
Twigs and small sticks are awkward: they're rigid, they can bridge across a narrow intake, and they take up a lot of bin space fast. A wide intake and roomy bin keep the robot from choking.
What to look for in a robotic pool cleaner for Twigs
The key for twigs is a wide, unobstructed intake paired with a large-capacity bin. Strong suction pulls sticks in cleanly, and a top-load bin makes it easy to shake them out. Good coverage of the deep end and corners collects the twigs that settle out of the flow.
- Wide intake that won't bridge or jam
- Large top-load debris bin
- Strong, steady suction
- Full deep-end & corner coverage

Frequently asked questions
Can a pool robot handle small sticks and twigs?
Yes, if it has a wide intake and a large bin. Models like the Premier and Quantum take in twigs cleanly without jamming.
Will twigs get stuck in the robot?
A robot with a properly sized intake rarely jams on twigs. Empty the bin regularly so sticks don't build up and block airflow.
What about mixed debris of twigs and leaves?
The Dolphin Premier's oversized leaf bag is ideal — it captures twigs, leaves, and acorns together.
