The Best Robotic Pool Cleaners with a Swivel Cable: Dolphin Picks
Not all robotic pool cleaners are built the same. These are the machines we'd put in a pool with a Swivel Cable — chosen for filtration, coverage, and reliability, and every one is a genuine Dolphin.
The term "robotic pool cleaner" covers everything from bargain floor-only vacuums to commercial-grade machines. When you're shopping with a Swivel Cable, the difference between the wrong robot and the right one is filtration, coverage, and build quality — three areas where Dolphin robots by Maytronics consistently lead.
A swivel cable has a rotating joint that stops the power cord from twisting and tangling as the robot turns — which means better coverage and no mid-cycle knots to untangle. It's a small feature that makes a big daily difference.
What to look for in a robotic pool cleaner with a Swivel Cable
Look for an anti-tangle swivel built into the cable, standard on most Dolphin robots. The swivel lets the cord rotate freely so the robot can crisscross the pool without tying itself in knots, improving coverage and reducing the hassle of untangling. It pairs best with smart navigation for full-pool efficiency.

Frequently asked questions
What is a swivel cable on a pool robot?
It's a rotating joint in the power cord that prevents twisting and tangling as the robot turns, so it covers the pool without knotting the cable.
Do all Dolphin robots have a swivel cable?
Most do. The anti-tangle swivel is a standard feature across the mid-range and flagship lineup, including the Quantum and Sigma.
Why does my cleaner's cord keep tangling?
It likely lacks a swivel, or the cable needs to be laid out and warmed in the sun before use. A robot with an anti-tangle swivel largely eliminates the problem.
