The Best Robotic Pool Cleaners with Waterline Cleaning: Dolphin Picks
Not all robotic pool cleaners are built the same. These are the machines we'd put in a pool with Waterline Cleaning — chosen for filtration, coverage, and reliability, and every one is a genuine Dolphin.
The term "robotic pool cleaner" covers everything from bargain floor-only vacuums to commercial-grade machines. When you're shopping with Waterline Cleaning, the difference between the wrong robot and the right one is filtration, coverage, and build quality — three areas where Dolphin robots by Maytronics consistently lead.
The waterline is where scale, oils, and grime show most — and where a floor-only cleaner leaves a visible ring. A robot with dedicated waterline cleaning scrubs that band clean and keeps the whole pool looking sharp.
What to look for in a robotic pool cleaner with Waterline Cleaning
For a clean waterline, choose a robot that climbs the walls and lingers at the waterline to scrub the tile band, not just the floor. Combined with active brushes and fine filtration, waterline cleaning removes the oily, scaly ring that otherwise builds up. It's essential for tile and infinity pools.
- Dedicated waterline scrubbing
- Strong wall climbing
- Active brushes for the tile band
- Fine filtration for freed grime

Frequently asked questions
Which robotic cleaners clean the waterline?
Models with dedicated waterline cleaning, like the Quantum, Sigma, and Premier, climb the walls and scrub the tile line where scale and oils collect.
Why is my waterline dirty even after cleaning?
A floor-only cleaner never reaches it. A robot with waterline cleaning scrubs that band directly, removing the oily ring.
Is waterline cleaning worth it?
For tile, glass, or infinity pools especially, yes — it keeps the most visible part of the pool clean without hand-scrubbing.
