Support answer · Skimmi Use & Maintenance

How do I clean my Skimmi?

From Maytronics support, updated 2026-08-10, rewritten for clarity. Applies to 1 model. Parts that fix it are below.

The answer

What to know.

  1. Wipe the Skimmi down and clean the sensors with a damp cloth.

  2. If the solar panel is covered in limescale buildup, gently clean it with lemon juice, diluted citric acid, or vinegar.

  3. Clean the filter tray:

  • Remove the filter tray
  • Rinse the filter tray with a garden hose from both sides to remove the debris
  • Return the filter tray to the Skimmi.

If the Skimmi will not be in use for an extended period, follow our off-season storage recommendations.

Before off-season storage, we recommend charging the battery to about 50%.

The recommended storage temperature range is between -4°F to 104°F.
