The Best Dolphin Robotic Pool Cleaners for Leaves
We carry every Dolphin robot by Maytronics. Here are the models built to handle leaves best — with the filtration, brushes, and navigation that matter most for Leaves.
Dolphin builds one of the widest robotic pool cleaner lineups on the market, so choosing the right one for Leaves comes down to matching the robot's filter, brushes, and navigation to the job.
Leaves are the number-one reason a pool robot underperforms: a small filter basket fills in minutes and the robot just pushes the rest around. The fix is a large-capacity bin (or a dedicated leaf bag) plus enough suction to lift waterlogged leaves off the floor.
What to look for in a robotic pool cleaner for Leaves
For a leaf-heavy pool, filter capacity beats filter fineness. Look for an oversized top-load bin like Dolphin's MaxBin, or a multi-media filtration system that accepts a dedicated leaf bag. Strong single- or dual-motor suction matters too, because soaked leaves are heavy and cling to the floor. Active scrubbing brushes help sweep leaves out of corners and off the steps where they collect.
- Oversized or top-load debris bin (MaxBin)
- Leaf-bag / multi-media filtration option
- Strong suction for waterlogged leaves
- Wall & waterline coverage where leaves float

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a leaf bag or is a filter bin enough?
For occasional leaf drop, a large MaxBin bin (like the Quantum or Cayman) is plenty. If you have heavy tree cover year-round, the Dolphin Premier's oversized leaf bag holds the most and is the easiest to empty.
Will a robotic cleaner pick up large wet leaves?
Yes. Dolphin robots use active suction rather than a booster pump, so they lift waterlogged leaves off the floor. A model with strong suction and a top-load bin handles them best.
Should I still skim before running the robot?
Skimming floating leaves first helps any robot, but it isn't required — a large-bin Dolphin will vacuum leaves off the floor and scrub them from steps and corners on its own.
