My Dolphin's filter is full - How do I clean it?

Most asked From Maytronics support, updated 2026-04-26, rewritten for clarity. Parts that fix it are below.

The fix

Step by step.

To take the best care of your filters, we recommend cleaning the filters after each cycle to make sure they last longer.

  1. Remove the Filter Basket or Panels.
  2. Rinse with Water: Use a garden hose or a high-pressure stream of water to rinse away the debris.
  3. Reinsert the Filters: Place the filters back into your robot without the need for them to dry.

Special Considerations for Ultra-Fine Filters

It is important to note that if you are using ultra-fine filters, even if they appear to be clean, they may still be obstructed by tiny particles such as sand and dust. A useful tip is to observe the color of the filter:

  • If the ultra-fine filters do not wash out white anymore, this is a clear sign that they are indeed clogged, and we recommend replacing them.

Washing Bag Filters and Cartridge Panels

For bag filters, they can be washed in a washing machine at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, and it is advisable to let them air dry.

As for the filter cartridge panels, these can be cleaned in a dishwasher set to 30 degrees Celsius.
