What is the DebrisLock filter technology and how does it work?

From Maytronics support, updated 2026-01-20, rewritten for clarity. Parts that fix it are below.

The answer

What to know.

The DebrisLock™ system creates a pumping action inside the filter by reversing the motor’s suction direction, applying pressure to release debris from the filter panels.

Once released, the debris sinks into a second chamber at the bottom of the filter, which is designed to prevent it from returning. During the backwash process, the robot will remain stationary for about five minutes and the main status LED will blink.

This allows the filter to clean itself autonomously, improves overall pool performance, and reduces how often the robot needs to be removed for filter cleaning, so the filter may not require cleaning for up to 2 weeks during UltraRun™ mode.
